The common declaration of the organizers of the side event in parallel with the FAO Committee on Commodity Problems

The organizers of the side event advocate the governments to define new orientations for the management of markets, recognize the importance of strong agricultural policies (based on food sovereignty and on the right to food), support particularly the efforts of Countries and Regions implementing stocking and supply management mechanisms, considering that the use of stocks is also needed as a way for prices regulation.
They advocate also the creation of a multilateral stocking mechanism, in order to reduce price volatility, in complement to regional systems.
